Lisa Edwards’ training philosophy is – “The best Dog/Human relationship comes through a balance of boundaries, requested behaviors, and freedoms.”© This is best achieved through training and effort over the lifetime of the dog. Her training methods include positive reinforcement and an emphasis on reading and understanding the capabilities of each dog as an individual. Not every dog wants to be competition obedience or agility champion; not every dog wants to do animal assisted therapy or be a service dog, but every dog can learn to do the best they can to be a good family member and canine good citizen. The behavioral issues Lisa frequently consults on may include general fear-aggression, dog-dog issues, remedial socialization, issues between dogs and children, and a variety of other behavioral issues which could require anything from training skills for both human and canine to management to intensive desensitization and counter conditioning. Lisa offers a range of classes designed to educate owners how to best teach and continue teaching their dogs throughout their lifetimes while including skills to help prevent behavioral issues down the road. The classes range from Basic, Intermediate, Advanced, Animal Assisted Therapy Instruction and Just-for-Fun Distract-a-Doggie© and Rally O classes. As a Certified Pet Dog Trainer and a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant Lisa has thousands of hours of classroom instruction and thousands of hours of behavioral consulting experience which allows her to provide a wealth of experience when confronting issues great and small.
