Trainer and co-owner of Terroux Dog Training, teaching primarily positive reinforcement methodology in the class environment and in private instruction; 15 years of professional experience. Certified as evaluator for the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) program in 2006, graduated with honors from Regis University, BS Business Administration and Communication, and earned the University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work, "Animals and Human Health (AHH)" Certificate (2019). Tiffany has accumulated over 100 CEUs of ongoing professional dog training education credits through national professional dog training organizations. Tiffany evaluates therapy dog team candidates for Animal Assisted Intervention (AAI) organizations. She is a professional member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT), and a member of the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC). Created the concept and curriculum for the Puppy Building Blocks program and trademarked, “Catch Your Dog Being GOOD!” Tiffany is passionate about positive reinforcement methodology; she developed her own personal perspective on methodology by examining, learning and working within other trainer philosophies and methodologies and challenging/expanding her experience through higher education. She began working as a volunteer with Safe Harbor Lab Rescue in 2002. While supporting local rescue groups, she hosted volunteer workshops and authored articles on dog rescue and behavior issues that were published in local media and handed out to newly adopting families. Tiffany served as a behavior consultant to adopting families, fostered dogs in her home, began a behavior profiling and reporting process for each dog she fostered, and assisted with transport and adoptions. Tiffany has trained with various reputable trainers in the Denver area including but not limited to Barbara Handler (Mantayo Kennels), respectfully; Blue Springs Katydid, Ted Terroux, and Sally Terroux; as well as periodically taking classes from peer trainers. She continuously monitors nationally renowned behaviorists, and regularly attends national and local dog health and behavior education workshops. Registered through Animals 4 Therapy and Pet Partners, Tiffany actively volunteers her time as a therapy team with her dog, Shelby, at local AAI engagements such as Reading with kids, visiting assisted living centers, and other animal-assisted-therapy and educational events.
