Phone/remote zoom consult options are also available. Trish McMillan is a certified professional dog trainer who holds a Master’s degree in animal behavior from the University of Exeter in England. She specializes in working with behavior problems in dogs, cats and horses, is an international expert in animal sheltering and welfare, and has been training dogs professionally since 1999.
In her seven years with the ASPCA, Trish held various behavior-related roles. She was the director of the animal behavior department at the ASPCA’s NYC shelter for several years, working with staff, volunteers and adopters to rehabilitate animals and make great matches. Trish has also helped assess and work with animals from cruelty, hoarding and dogfighting cases as well as those rescued from natural disasters, and has done research and consulting for animal shelters.
Trish started her behavior consulting business, Loehr Animal Behavior, in 2013. She has spoken nationally and internationally on animal behavior and sheltering topics, and is available as an expert witness for court cases. She also works with feline and equine behavior issues.
