Patience, Inspired Dog Training Michelle is an internationally Certified Behavior Consultant Canine (CBCC-KA) and Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT). All of our trainers are in school or have graduated from an accredited dog training school and are working towards their certifications. We are a science based positive reinforcement training facility. Our number one goal is to improve your relationship with your dog. We offer group classes in obedience and for fun. Private behavioral/obedience training for canines of all ages. Agility, Trick, Rally, and Scent group classes. We also offer certifications for Canine Good Citizen and Therapy Dogs International. Certifications: Job Title: Owner Training Equipment: clickers, whistles, motivational toys and treats. Training Philosophy: Be clear, calm, consistent and patient. Not necessarily in that order. Locations Served: Servicing all of Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts. I believe that Patience is an integral part of dog training. This is why I named my company and my crazy, high strung, highly driven, never napping, always moving Border Collie, Patience. Without her constantly testing my patience, I never would have become a dog trainer, or certainly not one who has so much experience with incorrigible behaviors.
I specialize in:
*Behavioral issues
*Obedience
*Agility
*Therapy dog training/evaluation
*Canine Good Citizen training/evaluation
Behavior Issues I work with include, but are not limited to: aggression, phobias, seperation anxiety, resource guarding, jumping, biting, potty training, in-home and outside destruction, submissive peeing, pulling on the leash, and excessive barking.
I volunteered for the Rhode Island Urban Search and Rescue team as a K9 handler with my dog Patience from 2004-2011. I'm well versed in Search and Rescue techniques (both wilderness and urban)which include: agility, direction and control, obedience and air scenting. This training has helped me to learn a variety of different canine sports/jobs and training methods. I love to bring my experience as a K9 handler of a disaster dog to my pet parents to help them establish new and fun ways to interact with and train their dogs to be the best companions they can be.
