Peggy Moran teaches Veterans to train their own PTSD service dogs using a year-long positive reinforcement, learning-theory based curriculum. Peggy also offers humane, reward-based private service dog training for civilians with PTSD, and offers behavior modification for companion dogs.

Training Philosophy: Dogs (and their people!) are treated with respect and compassion. Dogs are taught using scientifically-based, modern methods that emphasize rewarding desired actions, without the use of equipment or techniques that cause pain or fear.

Peggy Moran has been behavioral consultant to the American Dog Owners' Association; a guest speaker to the Northern Illinois Veterinary Medical Association, the University of Illinois Police Training Institute, at the University of Chicago, and at many area humane societies; Peggy has provided in-service training for the staff of the Anti-Cruelty Society in Chicago. She was a monthly columnist, feature article writer, and online editor for Dog World Magazine from the mid 1980's through December, 2002; she is a book author; and has produced a series of professional dog training DVDs for Wiley Publishing's "Happy, Healthy Pet" series. Peggy was the recipient of the ASPCA's Pet Overpopulation Answers Award through the Dog Writers' Association of America in 2000; she has been featured on many local radio and television programs; and she was a frequent guest on Animal Planet Radio. Peggy is a certified evaluator for the Foundation for Service Dog Support and an AKC CGC Evaluator and Temperament Test Evaluator. Peggy is a Jack Kent Cook Foundation Scholar with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthrozoology, a member of the Lambda-Alpha Anthropology Honors Society, and has Masters of Science hours through Edinburgh University in Applied Animal Behavior and through Exeter University in Anthrozoology. Peggy is presently enrolled in a certificate program in Veterans' Counseling. Peggy has provided PTSD service dog training since 2013, first through the Semper-Fi Fund and then as training director to AVSDA (formerly 1Pet1Vet Inc. NFP).
