PetSmart Group classes or privates. Puppy or Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Click-A-Trick. Privates can be 1/2 hour, 1 hour or 4-1 hour sessions. Certifications: Training Equipment: Regular collar/leash. No retractable leashes. Martingales for certain breeds, to prevent backing out of collar. No pull/front attaching harnesses in some cases as needed. Training Philosophy: Positive reinforcement training methods are the best way to enrich your relationship with your dog. Every dog is different, and training will strengthen your bond with your canine family member. Yes, you can teach any dog new tricks, puppy to senior! Locations Served: Chicagoland areas, Skokie, Evanston - had someone drive from Barrington for a class. I cannot train outside of the store though, PetSmart rules... Becoming a trainer was inevitable, as I was surrounded by dogs as a child, and owned them as an adult. I enjoy helping owners teach their dogs new behaviors, or show them how to eliminate unwanted ones. For the last 13 years I have volunteered with a Greyhound Rescue & Adoption organization, so I'm familiar with teaching fearful or adult dogs, and puppies, too. (I have also fostered over 20 dogs...) Have worked with all breeds and ages. All group classes lead up to passing the Canine Good Citizen or Therapy Dog tests (I have personally owned 4 Rainbow Animal Assisted Therapy Dogs, and number 5 is in training as of 7/2016). Happy to help you reach the goal of passing the CGC test (teach Greyhounds to sit!), as it is required for most therapy dog tests/organizations. I welcome older dogs, you can teach them new tricks! Especially rewarding when rescue dogs/older re-homed dogs become cherished family members... Private classes and group classes are family friendly, so everyone is on the "same page".
