Locations Served: Located on San Mateo County Coastside, in scenic Half Moon Bay. Indoor group obedience classes in Half Moon Bay and Belmont/San Carlos, the latter for San Mateo Dog Training Club. Private obedience sessions and behavior consultation in all areas of San Mateo County. Canine Good Citizen training and evaluating--several times/year I do CGC classes with testing option. Herding dog (all breeds) training on sheep in Sunol and Vacaville (also ducks in Vacaville)--instinct testing and lessons.

 

Training dogs in obedience and other canine performance sports for over 25 years. In my obedience business, I specialize in pet obedience and behavior issues. I currently compete in AKC obedience and rally, and this competition background serves well for working with owners and families of the pet dog. A primary goal is to better the relationship between dog and human(s), ensuring that the dog has a forever home, and that the family is able to live happily with their 4-legged friend. I deal with many behavior issues, including but not limited to: resource guarding, aggression towards children, aggression towards other dogs, destruction, housebreaking. Most problems occur because of lack of training, lack of understanding, lack of a common language. I teach you how to work with your dog to achieve better communication and leadership, with the goal of creating a harmonious relationship between human and canine. I offer small group classes in Half Moon Bay, beginning to advanced obedience. I am an AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator. If you own a herding breed, you may have already discovered the special needs of these breeds--to herd something, anything!!! I offer instinct training, lessons, at a dog training facility in Sunol. I work with all herding breeds/crosses at all levels, from beginning to advanced. I have been training and competing in herding with my own dogs since 1995, and training others since 2005 (I'm also an AKC and AHBA herding judge). We start with an instinct test on sheep and see what the dog offers. Lessons begin the fine tuning, working with the dog and teaching you how to work with your dog. There's a lot to learn, in playing catch-up to what your dog already knows, but it's a lot of fun for both species! No other performance sport or activity utilizes the herding breed's natural instinct to herd.
