Training Equipment: Common tools I use are clicker, voice, food toys, agility equipment, playground equipment sent imprinting tools such as paint cans, PVC devices, ext.Various types of collars, leashes, harnesses.

 

Training Philosophy: To promote skills through positive reinforcement, operant conditioning combined with verbal encouragement food and toy motivation, without creating fear or intimidation resulting in relationship of respect on both ends of the leash.

I began training dogs in 2000 when I trained my first search and rescue dog in urban, wilderness, and building searches. That dog also doubled as a therapy dog. I continued dog training on the side for many years. After being diagnosed with celiac began studying scientifically proven methods of training service dogs and combined it with my previous SAR experience to train my own gluten detection dog. I have spent the last 4 years training service dogs, working with odors such as gluten, red die 40, dairy, peanuts and diabetic alert. recently I have added seizure response and PTSD service dogs to the list. To keep prices low for my clients I offer training via Skype with an online course for my clients to give them the best skills I can to understand dog language and how dogs learn to become better handlers. I will always continue to further my education.
