I craft unique training plans for each individual client to meet both the owner and the dog where they are. Locations Served: Columbus, Ohio, Delaware, OH, Westerville, OH, Worthington, OH, Lewis Center, OH, Powell, OH, Dublin, OH Languages: English I have a degree in Zoology from Ohio Wesleyan University and spent seven years caring for and training animals at both The Wilds and The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. After shifting my focus to domestic animals, I volunteered with area shelters for many years and have personal experience training therapy dogs. I then became the Lead dog trainer at a local boarding and daycare facility, before making the move to in home dog training and forming The Pawsitive Approach. I have my CPDT-KA (Certified Professional Dog Trainer - Knowledge Assesed) certification and I am also a member of The Association of Professional Dog Trainers both of which follow least intrusive, minimally aversive (LIMA) protocols. I enjoy training dogs of all breeds and ages using positive reinforcement methods. I love working with puppies and new pet parents to get everyone started on the right foot with socialization and training. Helping dog owners to understand their dog and learn to work with them towards their goals gives me great satisfaction. |
