"Best Friend" - Companion Dog Training offers several levels of group training for you and your canine companion including puppy socialization and basic behavior training through advanced behavior application in "Real World" settings. Puppy Beginner Basics addresses the most basic of behaviors, i.e. sit, down, stay, coming when called, and polite leash walking as well as relationship building, problem solving and confidence building exercises. Also offered as a pre class option is "Puppy Pre-School" which is one on one management and manners training in your home prior to beginning a formal structured group class. Beyond the Basics challenges the novice dog to continue thinking. Still a class that will include basic behaviors Beyond the Basics will help dog and guardian to continue to build their relationship while gaining valuable management and emergency techniques. Pet Dog Excellent - Life in the Real World is an advanced level class that takes the behaviors that you have learned in the "class room" out into the real world. We visit local businesses, parks, hiking trails, busy downtown settings, etc. and apply what we have learned. You want a dog that you feel comfortable taking with you when you go out. This class offers the opportunity to challenge your companion in a setting they may not be used to while also offering to the public an opportunity to interact with polite dogs. In addition to group classes we also offer private in your home (or if you prefer at our facility) training to help modify problem behaviors however, upper levels of aggression will be referred out.
