Training Equipment: Success isn't about the equipment you use - what matters is how you use it! Clickers, flat collars and leads, slip leads, etc, etc. The only equipment I ban are flexi-type leads.

 

Training Philosophy: Be smart about dogs! We use positive, science-based training methods to help you succeed by building a positive (two way!) bond with your animal. Learn to "speak dog" and recognize the signals your dog is sending you and learn to communicate back.

 

Locations Served: For group classes, we are conveniently located on the West side of Downtown Dallas, near the intersection of I-30 and Riverfront Blvd. Private lesson areas are primarily in Dallas: Uptown, Downtown, Oak Lawn, M-Streets, Bishop Arts, Highland Park, University Park, Oak Cliff, Lakewood, Deep Ellum, etc. Smart Dog Dallas trainers also travel to surrounding cities. Smart Dog Dallas also offers daycare and boarding services with dog chauffeur service available in a limited area. A well-trained dog is a happier dog! Why? Because they get to spend more time with their favorite human! It’s no secret that well-behaved dogs have more freedom. Many stores and businesses in the DFW area will allow a dog that walks nicely on a leash or sits calmly when asked. A huge number of restaurants now allow friendly dogs to join their humans on the patio. When company arrives at your home, well-mannered dogs get to join in the fun—not be banished to another room because they are obnoxious. We use positive dog training methods to help engage your dog’s brain. We calm the hyper ones, encourage the shy ones, and teach the scared ones that humans are trustworthy. And because we want well-behaved animals in our playgroups, by necessity we encourage our boarding and daycare animals to be well-behaved with the same positive methods I use for lessons. Smart Dog Dallas has learning options for every dog and their human. We will create a custom training program to teach you how to direct your dog’s energy, not suppress it.
