Melissa Hummer is the founder of Pawsitively Perfect Pooches, a one-stop shop for dog training, sitting and exercise designed to help improve the interaction between man's best friend and their companions at the other end of the leash. Pawsitively Perfect Pooches' goal is to help humans better understand their dogs and why they behave the way they do. Melissa has a lifetime of experience working with our beloved furry companions, from first training her long-haired Collie, King, at the age of 9 in 4H en route to a wall full of blue ribbons to her current little (big) boy Badonkadonk, a therapy and CGC certified seven year-old Doberman. She has worked with some of Los Angeles' top trainers, is a member of APDT and is a certified CGC (Canine Good Citizens) evaluator. She is also pet first-aid and CPR certified. One of Melissa's greatest passions is giving back to the community and helping those in need (both furry and hairless). She has served as the head trainer for K9 Connection, an organization that pairs at-risk youth with shelter dogs, and volunteered at shelters across the City of Angels. |
