Training Philosophy: I use force free methods, meaning I never inflict pain, intimidation or fear in a dog. I use science based positive reinforcement to reward a dog for behaviors we want to increase.

I have been a trainer for 20 years in the Dallas, Texas area, but recently moved my practice to the Nashville area. I specialize in private behavior counsulting for any and all problems people are experiencing with their dogs. My main focus is to get canines and humans communicating by teaching a common shared language and by teaching owners how to be benevolent leaders for their dogs using positive reinforcement and science based techniques. I offer Relationship Based Training, a program created and developed by Suzanne Clothier, author of "Bones Would Rain from the Sky: Deepening Our Relationships with Dogs". I have studied with Suzanne many, many times during the last 20 years learning as much as possible about observing dogs and learning to think critically about what I observe. Communication is essential for building a deep relationship with our pets and it is up to us to see them for who they are, not just who we want them to be. Harmony between two species can only exist if we as their caretakers can see the world through their eyes. We need to understand how their perceptions of our world and our actions influence their behaviors. As part of my continuing education, I not only attend Suzanne Clothier's workshops at her farm, I also attend as many other animal behavior expert's lectures, camps and workshops offered all over the country as I can each year. This allows me the chance to meet a lot of talented trainers across the country and share with them some great ideas and new techniques on a regular basis.
