Jacob started training dogs in obedience, canine good citizen, and agility at the local kennel club when he was a teenager. As an adult Jacob had a 13 year career in Law Enforcement and Government work, though his love of building a stronger relationship with his dogs never wavered. No longer having the time he did as a teenager Jacob and his wife sent their beagle/lab puppy to Off Leash K9 for the Board and Train Program to get trained. When Comet came home, Jacob rediscovered how rewarding it was to have such good communication between the family and dogs. Shortly after sending Comet to Off Leash K9, he decided to make the career transition and turn his hobby into one of the best jobs you can imagine! His favorite part of being a trainer with Off Leash K9 is getting to help other dog parents build a better relationship with their dogs by bringing out their best selves, and learning a better way to communicate. He also loves getting to teach his kids first hand the amount of work that goes into even a fun job like this, and meeting so many different people who have a similar passion for animals. Jacob's family currently has four cats Phantom, Schrödinger, Trixie, and Tobias that are not enthused about Jacob's career choice, a bunny Misty that loves to meet all the new dogs, and three wonderful dogs Matilda a Pitbull/Bulldog, Tuna an Australian Shepard, and Comet a Beagle/Lab.
