Brush Up Training Brush Up offers a variety of training classes, from the basics, to CGC certification, pooch parkour, games, and skills building/proofing exercises. New classes added regularly. We use positive methods, and often clicker training, to keep the learning experience fun for everyone. Private sessions to help your fearful or reactive dog are also available. Certifications: Training Equipment: Basic leash and collar. If needed, Gentle Leaders or Easy Walk harnesses. No choke chains, pinch collars, shock collars, etc. I love clicker training and encourage it when possible! Training Philosophy: I believe that the relationship we have with our animals should be the most important part of training and that it should be fun (and possibly funny!) for all participants. Locations Served: Spokane area. Some classes offered in Chewelah. I have been teaching dog classes for 15+ years and have worked with a wide variety of breeds and behavioral issues.
My goal is to create positive experiences that encourage people to have fun with their dogs long after they grasp the basics. I offer a wide variety classes, games, and events with the focus being skills acquisition and proofing, mental and physical activity, and relationship building and enjoyment. My greatest joy is to have students who laugh, play, enjoy their classes, and enjoy the results of their hard work!
I have helped people who have dogs with disabilities (blind, deaf, and even a blind/deaf dog) use creativity to develop the behaviors they want in their dogs. I also enjoy working with low to mid level dog aggression and fear issues. For the past 15+ years I have been involved in animal rescue and have a good understanding of the most common issues rescue pets face.
I have experience with a variety of exotic species, including tigers, pumas, an African crested porcupine, coatimundi, Patagonian cavies, horses, and more.
I especially enjoy training with the clicker and have helped my students improve their general training skills by offering a chicken training course.
