K-9 Healers teaches basic Level 1 companion dog obedience as well as Level 2 classes to prepare for therapy dog evaluation and work.

Training Equipment: Choke, chain, e or prong collars are never used, ever!! Gail is a force free trainer. Students are asked to have their dogs on a flat buckle collar using a 6 foot nylon or leather leash.

Locations Served: K9Healers serves the Finger Lakes area of upstate New York including the counties of Monroe, Ontario, Yates, Seneca and Wayne counties and parts of the Southern Tier region.

 

Gail is the owner of K9Healers and enjoys teaching individuals and their families the basics in helping their dogs become the canine companion they feel proud to introduce to others. Gail offers group classes or private lessons. Certified through Animal Behavior Institute in Animal Assisted Therapy, Gail also specializes in Animal Assisted Intervention training. K-9 Healers can also evaluate for the Advanced Community Canine, Canine Good Citizen, STAR puppy and APDT C.L.A.S.S. Gail is founder and former director of Therapy Dogs International Chapter #216. K-9 Healers goal is to enrich the relationship between the handler and their dog. Through this relationship a connection based on trust and love is made between people of all ages and their dogs.
