Training Philosophy: My training philosophy emphasizes leverage as opposed to dominance to modify or encourage a behavior. I believe this method of training is more conducive to a trusting dog who will have confidence to be curious and to think.

 

Locations Served: My business is based in Salida, Colorado. I've had dog owners come from as far away as Colorado Springs to attend weekly dog training classes.

 

Laura Pintane is a local dog trainer in Salida, Colorado. Laura has been a professional dog trainer since 1989 when she worked for Canine Companions for Independence (CCI), a service dog organization. She utilizes the skills and commands she learned while training service dogs and has assisted owners in training approximately 500 dogs locally since she founded Laura's Dog Training in 1999. In addition to starting a dog training business, Laura also formed a local 4H program, created a dog club which built a dog park, organized a therapy dog network and has been a writer for the local newspaper column for the past five years. Laura's goal with dog training is help dog owners listen to their dog and maximize the potential relationship.
