I am a certified professional dog trainer (CPDT) with 30 years of experience. I like to start working with you as soon as you bring your puppy or dog home. I train dogs of all breeds and ages. I use positive methods to teach the dog - and you. My focus is on practical training - teaching the dog to do things that are useful and make your life easier. I also work with dogs with behavior issues like fear, separation anxiety, aggression, etc. We'll work together in your home and eventually in public places for distraction training. If you have children, I have special gifts and projects I bring for them so that they're included and involved in the training. I'm an AKC-approved Canine Good Citizen evaluator and I work with and encourage you to take and pass the STAR Puppy test and the CGC test. It's very important to me to obtain ongoing education. I attend many conferences, seminars, workshops, and read and research a lot. I incorporate new ideas and techniques into my training as I learn about them and find them compatible with my training philosophy. Most of all, I LOVE my job! My greatest satisfaction is to see the learning take place in the dog's brain. I am constantly amazed and humbled by the abilities of dogs.
