Training Equipment: I use a variety of different equipment. Working with the family team to find the most appropriate solution for immediate needs, as well as long term solutions.

 

Training Philosophy: I believe in setting the family unit (both 2 and 4 legged variety) up for success, by creating an enjoyable environment that is reinforcing for all parties.

 

Locations Served: Serving Bloomington, Normal and the Central Illinois community.

 

I offer in-home training and consultations, pre-adoption assessment, dog/handler relationship-building, competition advice, and “Clicker Mechanics” training to people with a variety of skill levels. I am a Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner (KPA CTP), a Certified Nose Work Instructor (CNWI) and a competition Obedience, Rally and Scent Work Judge. I am committed to working with families and their animal partners in a fun, relaxed, and positive environment. I pursue continuing education through travel, webinars, and by bringing nationally known trainers to Central Illinois. Also, as a Premium level member of the KPA, continued education is required, as is also the case as a CNWI with NACSW. I am member of several Central Illinois dog training clubs and compete in K9 Nose Work, Rally, Obedience, Agility, and Conformation. I have also dabbled in Tracking, Treibball, and Freestyle. My experience with reactive dogs led me to start clicker training. I’ve trained other lifetime dog owners in Karen Pryor Academy theory, and enjoy seeing their partnerships with their dogs improve dramatically in a short period of time.
