We use dog training methods based on the science of canine and mammal learning. Reward-based positive reinforcement techniques have been scientifically proven to be the most effective, efficient and kind methods available. Positive reinforcement dog training focuses on rewarding behaviors we like that are incompatible with behaviors we don't like. When our dog happily exhibits good behavior it naturally improves our relationships with our dog while also improving the experience of every other person who comes into contact with our dog. In this way we help our whole community enjoy the presence of dogs more. We never use methods or tools that utilize pain, fear or force. As Steve Dale has said, using pain to train a dog is like using a nuclear weapon to weed your garden. The weeds are gone but the collateral damage is catastrophic. Luckily positive reinforcement training is most supportive of animals learning and "weeding" or changing an animal's behavior; there is never reason to use a different technique.
