Nutz About Mutz I provide in-home and remote sessions to address behavior issues including timid/fearful, dog-dog reactivity, leash-reactivity, stranger danger, resource guarding, anxiety, among others. As of 3/5/22, I am continuing to follow CDC guidelines for areas at moderate risk. St. Louis & St. Charles are considered moderate risk, which means I am continuing to mask and asking all clients to wear masks for all indoor work. This is an effort to protect the many high risk clients I have. I appreciate my clients helping me to keep all of clients safe and healthy. Certifications: Designations: ACAAB, CPDT-KA
Fear Free Professional, MS Job Title: Owner Training Equipment: short & long leads, flat collars, harnesses, face collar or martingale collars when appropriate; target, clicker, treats, and toys... I DO NOT USE CHOKE CHAINS, PINCH/PRONG COLLARS OR ELECTRONIC COLLARS of any type. Training Philosophy: Suppressing behavior does not change the underlying motivation for the behavior. If we address the underlying motivation, we can change the overt behavior because we help the dog meet their needs in a way that is preferable to us. Locations Served: St. Charles, MO
St. Louis, MO
Please see Services page on my website to see a fuller list of service areas and associated travel fees. Languages: English I have a master’s degree (MS) in Animals and Public Policy with a minor in Animal Behavior from Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. I am a board certified Associate Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist (ACAAB) through the Animal Behavior Society (one of fewer than 60 in the world). I am a Certified Behavior Consultant Canine - Knowledge Assessed (CBCC-KA) and a Certified Professional Dog Trainer - Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA). I am also a certified Fear Free Professional Trainer.
Using force-free and fear-free methods, I am able to help dogs and their owners to improve the lives of both. I am seeing clients for behavior issues ranging from stranger danger and dog-dog reactivity to fear based aggression and resource guarding (possession aggression). I work with timid/fearful dogs as well as sound sensitivities and phobias. Of course, I also teach basic skills and manners and enjoy helping families get their new pup’s off on the right paw for a lifetime of living well and sharing their space together.
