Whole Dog Camp Jenny Ruth Yasi, CPDT-KA, CDTI, CCUI is a Fear Free Certified Professional Trainer, Certified Control Unleashed Instructor, CGC evaluator and humane educator graduated from Vermont College in 1998 with a self-designed major in Behavior Science and Character Development. She opened her business, Whole Dog Camp, in 2001 on Peaks Island, Maine. She relocated Whole Dog Camp to Freeport Maine in 2017. Languages: English,French Jenny has taught many subjects, from organic gardening to elementary school French. She grew up on a farm, where she developed a love of training a variety of animals, including goats, horses, bunnies, rodents, birds, cats and dogs! Her formal studies in behavior science and animal training began in 1996 through a self-designed program at Vermont College in Behavior Science and Character Development. It included research and studies with Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh, clicker trainers Leslie Whitney, Carolyn Scott, Attilla Szukalek, Mary Ray, Diane Kowalski, Terry Ryan, Ian Dunbar, Jen Pinder. Jenny has studied under "Say Yes!" trainer, Susan Garrett since 2004. She is a follower of Leslie McDevitt and is currently training to become a certified Control Unleashed instructor. Jenny's dogs are titled in freestyle, rally, and obedience, and she especially enjoys training in "practical" dog work, such as tracking, service retrieves, and skijoring. She and her dogs have been active members of Therapy Dog International, and perform in a humane education program, "How dog trainers make cut big problems down to size!
Whole Dog Camp in Freeport Maine offers stay and train, day training, group and private lessons, and well as flex-time memberships for drop in training. Whole Dog Camp trainers grow in a variety of dog sports. Jenny travels delivering talks and workshops on how dog trainers make big problems smaller, build stronger environmental cues, dog handling safety and how you can become your dog's guru.
