Training Philosophy: We don't use aversive techniques or punishment at Pooch Positive. Clicker training is based on the scientific principles of behavioral psychology, including operant and classical conditioning. Dogs repeat behaviors that are reinforced.

Michelle Charboneau, CPDT-KA, has a BA in Psychology and an MBA from the University of Missouri. She has been training dogs since 2009 when she began volunteering at at an animal shelter. In 2010, Michelle completed the Assistant Trainers course offered by the Greater St. Louis Training Club, and learned positive reinforcement training is really about encouraging communication between pets and their people rather than obedience. In 2013, Michelle completed the Karen Pryor Academy Dog Trainer Program. In 2014, Michelle earned her Animal Welfare Certificate through the St. Louis Community College. She is a member of the Greater St. Louis Training Club, the Pet Professional Guild, and the APDT.
