Training Philosophy: A bite is a symptom-not a death sentence. Canine behavior is intimately influenced by human action or inaction. One does not exist in isolation from the other.

Jim Crosby, a retired Police Lieutenant from Jacksonville, FL, has professionally trained dogs and taught individual and group obedience classes since 1999. He responded to and worked on-scene in New Orleans after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita with Muttshack Animal Rescue/AKC Disaster Response, specializing in behavioral triage and recovery of dogs labeled as “aggressive”. Jim is recognized as an expert in the US and Canada on Dangerous Dogs, canine aggression, fatal dog attacks, and related issues (court recognized expert in multiple state courts and 1 Federal District Court), and has performed evaluations on alleged Dangerous Dogs for various legal cases and jurisdictions. Jim has taught safe handling and rehabilitation of Dangerous Dogs and Investigation of Fatal and Serious Dog Attacks to police, animal control agencies, and others across the US and Canada. Jim is currently active as a consultant on aggressive and Dangerous Dog issues, including legislative action and legal advising, civil and criminal. He has been employed as an expert resource for the Swift Justice television program. Jim continues to train Animal Control Officers, Police, and other investigators on procedures regarding the investigation of fatal dog attacks, participating in such investigations as an expert resource. Jim performs behavioral evaluation and retraining for difficult and aggressive dogs on an individual basis.
