The Sophisticated Dog offers private training in online sessions for clients worldwide, as well as private in-person training for clients in a limited area of Los Angeles's west side, as well as in and around the City of Ventura. We address everything from puppy manners and basic obedience to behavior modification for aggressive, fearful, and reactive behavior.

Irith Bloom has been training animals since the 1980s, and has worked with everything from dogs and rabbits to birds and horses. Irith is faculty at Victoria Stilwell Academy for Dog Training and Behavior as well as dog*biz's Dog Walking Academy, and is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer - Knowledge & Skills Assessed (CPDT-KSA), a Certified Behavior Consultant Canine - Knowledge Assessed (CBCC-KA), a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant (CDBC), a Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner (KPA CTP), a Victoria Stilwell Positively Dog Trainer (VSPDT), a Certified Behavior Adjustment Training Instructor (CBATI), and a Certified Separation Anxiety Trainer (CSAT). Irith is also a Fear Free Certified Practitioner, and is certified in TAGteach, a positive reinforcement method for coaching humans. Irith regularly presents at conferences and seminars, as well as giving webinars and appearing in podcasts. She is the author of "Your Puppy and You: A step-by-step guide to raising a freak'n awesome dog," and her writing is regularly published both online and in-print.
